We are aware that it is expensive to travel and that life happens. None of us want to have anything happen that would delay, cancel or interrupt our trip and that is what the insurance is for. It is much like auto insurance. I always hope I never need it, but when something happens, it is wonderful to have.
It is great to have insurance coverage to cover your costs if something unexpected happens to you or a loved one. We wanted to give you insurance plans from one travel company that we use, Travel Guard, as it will let you see what is offered.
In the State of Utah we are allowed to let you know of Travel Insurance Coverage, but we are not allowed to actually sell it to you. This is one of the laws in selling travel insurance in Utah. We are registered with the State of Utah, but can only give you information, but you have to be the one that actually purchases your insurance policy.
One of the companies we work with is Travel Guard, also known as AIG. Below are three different attachments with different insurance plans to give you an idea of what is offered. Please know that the Essential is the very basic, least expensive of the coverage's, Preferred is the middle priced policy, where Deluxe is the most expensive and has the higher coverage's.
Most people tend to purchase the Preferred Plan, as it gives you a great benefit of the Trip Saver. This is also included in the Deluxe Plan, but not in the Essential Plan. This is what Trip Saver is:
Reimburses up to $2,500 for meals, Hotels and additional Transportation if the Insured must begin their Trip sooner than the originally scheduled Departure Date due to Inclement Weather or Common Carrier changes.
This is great to have in case you are going on a trip and on the date you plan to fly you know a huge storm is coming through. You can contact your airline carrier and see if you can get out prior to the storm, so you do not miss your cruise, trip, business conference, etc. You might hear from your airline that your flight has been cancelled and you can use this insurance to secure new airfare. The amount of $2,500.00 is per person. This is one of the new updates in insurance that I love as we have seen this happen time and time again.
As you can see below, on the three different insurance plans I mentioned, there are no prices as to what the insurance costs. You will want to go on to their website, which is www.travelguard.com and it will bring you to their website where you can get a quote or you can call them at 800-826-1300. The quote is based on where you are traveling, the cost of your trip and your age. Make sure you add the trip cost, as well as your airfare.
On the Preferred and Deluxe Plans they have where if an adult purchases a plan then one child 17 years of age or younger can be insured for free. If you had a family with two parents and four children and two Grandparents going on the trip, then if each adult purchased a travel insurance plan, they could cover one of the children and the four children would have coverage for free. That is a great deal.
Please note that if you live in one of the following states these plans are not available to you because of laws in your state. These states are CO, FL, IN, KS, MN, MO, MT, NY or WA. If you live in one of these states please give me a call and I can let you know of other insurance companies you can use instead.
One very important thing to know is our travel agency name and number if purchasing the Travel Insurance through Travel Guard. Our company name is Travel Passport LLC and our number is 46782260. In the process of purchasing a travel insurance plan you will be asked if you are going through a Travel Agency and they will also ask you for our number, and this is the number they are asking for, so they know you are traveling with us. This gives them another phone number to call if they can not reach you. An example would be that your cell phone battery has died, and they need daily details of your trip. For instance, you are needing to fly home in the middle of a trip, and the insurance company needs to know which airport will be closest to you the following day. We would have your daily itinerary and could give them that information. On many land trips in Europe, or on a cruise, you may be going through various countries or islands throughout a week period, so this becomes very important.
Please open the three attachments below and you can compare the coverage's, which are on the second page of each attachment to see what you need and want. If you would like our help we are here to answer any questions that you have. You can give us a call at 800-677-4750 or at 801-423-1081. Please look at the website with the page Travel Guard Insurance and it will bring up three plans side by side so you can compare them, as well as other travel insurance plans.
